Commemorating the Shahadah of Fatima Zahra(as).
On November 6th, 2025—the first Shahādah of Lady Fatimah al‑Zahra (A.S.)—we stand in awe of a life marked by purity, sacrifice, and spiritual grandeur. Born in Mecca in Jumādā’ al‑Thānī, five years before the Hijra (circa 615 CE), she is celebrated as the most exalted among women, earning titles such as Az‑Zahra (the Radiant), Batūl (the Pure), Umm Abiha (Mother of her father) The Qur’an reveals to us truths that speak to her sanctity—particularly the verse of purification, “Allah desires to repel all impurity from you, O People of the [Prophet’s] household…” (33:33)—and the verse of mawadda, “…and be of those who show devotion” (42:23)—which, in Shia understanding, refers directly to the Ahl al‑Bayt.
The Prophet (PBUH) said of her: “Fatimah is the master of all the women of the worlds,” and “She is part of me; whatever harms her harms me, and whatever pleases her pleases me” .At a tender age, amidst hardship—and even when faced with injustice that led to her martyrdom—she remained a paragon of courage and compassion: when a poor man arrived seeking help and the household had no food, she gave him the necklace she wore so he might sell it and gain sustenance; the Prophet later ordered that the giver be freed for her generosity Reddit. Her life and martyrdom embody the Qur’an’s ideals of selflessness, dignity, and divine love—for as she endured suffering with unwavering patience, Allah’s pleasure became manifest in her.
May Allah grant us hearts illuminated by her light, the strength to love and uphold her in our actions, and the privilege of being counted among those beloved to her and to Allah.
